The Department of Nursing invites applications for the position of Adjunct Professor of Nursing. This is a course-by-course, part time position responsible for instruction of advanced practice nursing students. The nursing adjunct faculty instructor shall be responsible for the instruction of online courses or indirect supervision of pre-licensure students during clinical learning activities at a cooperating agency. Duties/Responsibilities include delivering engaging, evidence-based online course content aligned with program learning objectives; leading discussions, case studies, and other interactive learning activities to promote critical thinking and application of advanced nursing concepts; evaluating student performance through assignments, exams, and projects, providing timely and constructive feedback; offering academic guidance and support to graduate nursing students, addressing questions and concerns promptly; leveraging learning management systems (LMS) and other digital tools effectively to enhance student engagement and accessibility; working with faculty and administrative staff to ensure alignment of courses with program goals and accreditation standards; upholding ethical standards, academic integrity, and institutional policies in all aspects of teaching and communication. Requirements include a Master’s degree in Nursing, at least two years of recent, relevant nursing experience in the specialty, current unencumbered registered nurse license or professional licensure as appropriate for specialty, proficient knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, and standards, ability to communicate complex concepts clearly, strong analytical skills, and preferred qualifications such as a doctoral degree, experience in online teaching, experience working with college age and non-traditional students, and skill in working with culturally diverse constituencies in the academic environment.
