Aircraft Painter (F-15 Maintenance Support)

Location: Seymour Johnson AFB – Goldsboro, NC
Unit Supported: 4th Maintenance Group
Clearance Required: Secret
Schedule: Day Shift, Mon–Fri (0700–1600), Swing Shift, Mon-Fri (1500-2400)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Painter (23050) to support F-15 Organizational, Intermediate, and Depot (OID) level maintenance at Seymour Johnson AFB. The Aircraft Painter will play a critical role in corrosion control, refinishing, and full paint operations to ensure F-15 aircraft remain fully mission capable.

This position is part of a contract supporting the 4th Fighter Wing, requiring depot-level maintenance, operational-level inspections, and paint operations. Work will be performed in government facilities, with potential travel to TDY locations as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled painting, refinishing, and corrosion control on F-15 aircraft, Aircraft Maintenance Equipment (AME), and conformal fuel tanks.
\n
• Conduct touch-ups, scuff sanding, masking, primer application, and full aircraft painting in compliance with USAF directives and technical data.
\n
• Prepare surfaces for paint by removing old coatings, sanding, smoothing, and applying surface treatments.
\n
• Apply paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin, or other coatings using spray guns, rollers, and brushes.
\n
• Mask and stencil insignia, numbers, and lettering on aircraft surfaces.
\n
• Document all maintenance actions using official logs, forms, and electronic records.
\n
• Support concurrent aircraft, AGE/SE, and back shop workloads per COR-directed priorities.
\n
• Assist with corrosion control, inspections, and general aircraft maintenance support when required.
\n

Required Qualifications

\n
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of aircraft painting experience (or 5-level USAF equivalent).
\n
• Demonstrated knowledge of military aircraft painting and corrosion control procedures.
\n
• Familiarity with USAF technical orders, publications, and maintenance standards.
\n
• Ability to work with hazardous materials, respirators, and painting equipment safely.
\n
• Strong attention to detail with ability to meet time standards for mission readiness.
\n
• Active Secret Clearance.
\n

Preferred Qualifications

\n
• Military Aircraft and AGE/SE painting experience.
\n
• Background in corrosion prevention programs and aircraft structural refinishing.
\n
• Knowledge of Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTOs), Time Change Items (TCIs), and other aircraft maintenance processes.
\n
