About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) with a strategic and execution-focused approach to establish a robust security foundation. The successful candidate will be tasked with guiding the organization through a period of rapid growth and increasing regulatory expectations, particularly in the context of the real-world threats faced by a growing crypto firm. Key responsibilities for the CISO include owning the roadmap and execution for obtaining regulatory and industry certifications, partnering with C-Suite, Engineering, and Compliance teams to define and document necessary security controls, and serving as the primary contact for external security auditors. The role also involves conducting comprehensive security assessments, developing a threat model specific to the crypto landscape, and standing up incident response capabilities. Applicants for the CISO position at the company should have a strong background in cybersecurity, ideally within fintech, crypto, or other financial services. The role requires a leader with a successful track record in guiding organizations through security certification programs and a strong technical grounding in areas such as threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and security engineering practices. Experience in working with senior executives, clear communication in board-level settings, and the ability to operate both strategically and hands-on are essential. The CISO will also be responsible for recruiting, mentoring, and managing a growing team of security professionals, and must have a strong understanding of secure architecture patterns and the ability to build core security processes from the ground up. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, or equivalent are a must.
