Position Summary/Department Summary:
Family Based Crisis Intervention (FBCI) is a short intervention developed at Boston Children’s to avoid the need for psychiatric hospitalization. Originally designed for emergency departments, FBCI stabilizes suicidal adolescents and gives them and their families training and tools to safely manage crises at home. We are currently seeking an experienced full-time social worker to join our team!

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing clinical social work services to assist patients and families with personal, family, medical and environmental difficulties.
• Performing psychosocial and risk assessments, assigning diagnoses and developing and implementing interventions and treatment plans.
• Participating in planning and implementation of discharge and outpatient service plans and collaborating with health care team and community agencies to plan, implement and follow up on treatment and provision of needed services.
• Developing training materials for evidence-based intervention for youth at risk for suicide
• Training staff in evidence-based interventions for suicide prevention

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

• Master’s degree in social work

Experience:

• Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary team environment as well as excellent communication skills
• Experience with social services agencies, understanding of social determinants of health, family crisis intervention and trauma ideal.
• Experience with training development and implementation ideal.
• Bilingual/bicultural/diverse candidates are encouraged to apply. Spanish speaking a plus!

Licensure/Certifications:

• LICSW in the state of Massachusetts

This position is M-F, 1PM -9:30PM

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
