CRH Americas operates with a decentralized, diversified structure, letting you work in a small company environment while having the career opportunities of a large enterprise./ph3Summary/h3pPlans layout, installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus and control equipment by performing the following duties./ph3Essential Duties And Responsibilities/h3pPlans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance and avoid unsightly, hazardous and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications to meet MSHA, NEC and local electrical codes./ppPrepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings and flooring./ppMeasures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit./ppPulls wiring through conduit./ppSplices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together and applying tape or terminal caps./ppConnects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment./ppInstalls control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, PLC and circuit-breaker panels./ppConnects power cables to equipment, such as motors, motor controls, HVAC equipment and installs grounding conductors./ppTests continuity of a circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as multi meter, ohmmeter, amp meter, and insulation tester./ppObserves functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation or replacement./ppRepairs faulty equipment or systems./ppUses blueprints and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot and maintain installed control and instrument circuits./ppFabricates structural members for support of conduit, junction boxes and related components./ph3Qualifications/h3pTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations./ph3Reasoning Ability/h3pAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
