Job Description:
Mid City Redevelopment Alliance is seeking a passionate, community-minded, experienced, Executive Director to lead the organization toward its mission. The Executive Director will lead all aspects of the organization’s mission and operations. The ideal Executive Director will possess strong leadership skills, display a keen ability to lead the mission, engage and connect with diverse stakeholders, and build long-lasting relationships.
Responsibilities:
VISION, MISSION, COMMUNITY
● Provide visionary leadership and guidance working closely with leadership and stakeholders to enhance the organization's mission
● Collaborate with the leadership (who is the leadership? the board or other staff?) to develop and implement a strategic plan to advance the mission of the organization
● Act as the organization’s spokesperson and representative at speaking engagements, community and public events
● Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Establish, nurture, and promote ongoing and new relationships and collaborations with key leadership volunteers and community partners
● Elevate awareness of the organization and resources available to the community
TEAM LEADERSHIP
● Cultivate a culture of excellence, inclusion, and teamwork
● Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and collaboration while encouraging staff members and volunteers to contribute their unique perspectives and talents
OPERATIONS
● Oversee the day-to-day operations of Mid City from including programming, building needs, finances and other needs that arise
● Collaborate with leadership to develop and manage the organization’s annual budget
● Provide ongoing financial analysis and responsible fiscal management for compliance and sustainable growth
● Manage payroll and billing
● Oversee and implement development and fundraising plans, including individual and corporate grants and/or donors
● Enhance technological capacity of the organization
● Provide regular monthly updates to leadership regarding the organization’s operations, finances, and performance
● Manage communications with NeighborWorks and other major community partners
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT & SUPPORT
● Provide thought leadership and seek out programmatic events, speakers, and experiences that align with the mission. Cultivate awareness of new program areas, facilitators, needs of stakeholders and industry trends.
● Plan and coordinate successful programs that can include nights and weekends
● Observe and evaluate program facilitators and programs. Assess program outcomes on an ongoing basis to make improvements, expand, or create synergy
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; with an advanced degree in business administration, finance, or law is preferred but not required.
● Prefer five (5) plus years of experience in leadership/ management
Working Conditions & Location
● Full-time, in person and onsite
● Some nights and weekends
● Prolonged period sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Salary
$85,000 - $95,000 per year, depending on experience. This position also includes a comprehensive benefits package.
