Location: Hybrid (required onsite 4 days per week) - Palo Alto, CA 94303 Parking: Candidates are responsible for paying for parking on their own expenses Key Responsibilities: Review, process, and compile accounting transactions and supporting documents to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with university policies and applicable regulations. Audit financial transactions and related documentation (e.g., journal entries, receipts, authorizations) for consistency and correctness. Monitor accounting systems to track outstanding and clearing transactions. Compile, maintain, and verify financial data and daily reports; generate routine financial summaries and reports. Respond to and resolve transactional inquiries; escalate more complex or broader issues when appropriate. Provide customer service support to internal departments regarding financial transactions and university finance policies. Assist with procurement card (P-Card) administration, processing of travel cards, and employee reimbursement requests. Create accounts and prepare invoices within financial systems, as needed. Support departmental initiatives, such as system testing or process improvements. Maintain organized records of financial documents, procedures, and compliance files. Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in finance, accounting, or a related administrative field. Skills & Abilities: Basic understanding of accounting principles and procedures. Proficiency with computerized office and financial systems. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills for working with internal stakeholders.
