Direct Hire-Florist Shop Assistant – Daily Operations
Located on the Westside
Hours: Monday-Friday 9:30am-5:00pm Saturday 9:30am-4:00pm
Job Description:
We are seeking a dependable and energetic Florist Shop Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in keeping our flower shop running smoothly by ensuring floral care, store cleanliness, excellent customer service, and order management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and be prepared to start work promptly.
• Provide advance notice for any absences or late arrivals whenever possible.
• Set up and take down all flags and outdoor decorations daily.
• Check and maintain water levels in all floral arrangements; replace dirty water as needed.
• Monitor plant soil and water as needed (typically every 3 days).
• Every Wednesday:
• Refresh flowers in the back cooler.
• Use clean buckets (half-filled with water and 1/4 cap of flower food).
• Fresh cut every stem and wash dirty buckets.
• Maintain at least 3 ready-to-go wrapped arrangements:
• 1 dozen roses
• 2 mixed arrangements
• Refill as needed.
• Ensure all items, including arrangements, are labeled with black price tags.
• Dust and clean tables and glass shelves regularly.
• Clean inside and outside of front coolers.
• Stock supplies and products throughout the day.
• Answer phone calls professionally and assist customers with orders or questions.
• Monitor and process FTD (Florists’ Transworld Delivery) orders before expiration time.
• End-of-day duties: sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean bathroom.
• Keep the back of the shop neat, organized, and clutter-free.

• Punctual, responsible, and proactive
• Friendly with strong communication skills
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable using basic computer systems for order processing
• Enthusiastic about floral design, customer service, and retail sales
