Boone Quarry - Rogers Group Inc - Verona, KY

Full-Time

Approximate shift times of 6 a.m. - 5 p.m. or as needed by the operation.

Wages are expected to be between $34-$40 per hour. Higher starting pay may be available based on experience and certification. Candidates in hourly roles are bonus eligible upon successful completion of MSHA electrical exam after one year of service. Candidates already with this certification, may be eligible to come in as a Senior Industrial Electrician with a higher starting pay. This position would include a company service vehicle for business and commute purposes. This position may be called upon to assist other locations as needed. Rogers Group is currently seeking an individual to fill a HIGH VOLTAGE INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICIAN position for Boone Quarry in Verona, KY. This individual will be responsible for analyzing and correcting electrical problems and will repair and overhaul electrical equipment and controls. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2-4 years of previous electrical experience is required , Journeyman Electrician License preferred or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
\n
• Industrial electrical experience is preferred ; industrial electrical experience in a mining environment is strongly preferred. \n
\n
• Must be willing to work overtime as operational needs require.
\n
• Analyzes circuits, wiring diagrams and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service or replace electronic devices and systems.
\n
• Receives wiring diagrams, specifications and instructions from supervisor covering emergency and scheduled repairs, installation, and electrical inspection work to be performed.
\n
• Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, properties of materials and principles of operation of electrical equipment. Starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown.
\n
• Services electronic equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuits, printed circuit boards, and similar electronic devices.
\n
• Installs, repairs, and maintains communication cables, power distribution cables, then splicing pieces as required.
\n
• Familiarity and experience working with PLCs (Programable Logic Controllers)
\n
• Experience working with High Voltage (480 volts) required
\n
• Fabricates parts if not commercially available, using machine and hand tools common to the trade.
\n
• Determines need for, analyzes, and makes necessary running adjustments, repairs, and overhauls.
\n
• Advises and cautions operators and mechanics about potential electrical problems and inherent dangers involved.
\n
• Notifies supervisor of potentially dangerous electrical equipment noted and corrective action taken.
\n
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, dust, etc.).
\n
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time throughout the workday, as required to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis with or without reasonable accommodation.
