Summary

Maui Preparatory Academy is seeking a Lower School Music Teacher to join our dynamic team of educators. ?
This position provides an exciting opportunity to inspire and instruct students in grades K-5 music classes.

Duties

The ideal candidate will:

• Collaborate and implement an engaging and age-appropriate music curriculum for students in grades K?5.
• Foster musicality, creativity, and confidence through singing, rhythm, and instrumental experiences.
• Prepare students for school performances throughout the year, including assemblies, concerts, and special events.
• Teach foundational music literacy skills, including rhythm, pitch, reading musical notation, and basic music theory.
• Lead instruction in ukulele, choir, and general music, adapting lessons to suit a range of skill levels.
• Manage classroom instruments and maintain a clean, organized, and inspiring music environment.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support musical growth.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor?s degree in Music Education or equivalent professional experience as a musician or music educator.
• Proficiency in teaching ukulele, choir, and basic music theory.
• Ability to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A passion for music education and a commitment to nurturing student growth and creativity.
