This position is primarily responsible for providing safety and security services for all individuals. Professionals in this position investigate criminal acts on hospital property, assist surrounding agencies when requested, patrol hospital buildings and grounds, protect life and property. This position operates in a large high-volume intense environment (over 60,000 dispatched calls for service of which over 4000 are violence patient calls annually, over 100 aggressive patients resulting in injury annually, over 600 security points, almost 700 security cameras, almost 300 panic alarms, and over $4.5M square feet of buildings and parking) and works in tandem with police officers and security specialists. The Department of Public Safety operates as a fully functional law enforcement agency within a business environment located in a major metropolitan city. Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED
