Restaurant Chef

Alcoa, TN

$70k - $80k Plus Bonus, Benefits and 401k

We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Chef to lead our kitchen operations and drive exceptional dining experiences in Alcoa, TN. This leadership role requires a culinary professional who combines technical expertise with strong management skills to oversee all back-of-house operations while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Master all kitchen systems to run effective shifts across all restaurant operations
  • Ensure consistent execution of established systems, standards, and cost controls
  • Maintain cleanliness standards for both exterior and interior facilities
  • Monitor and maintain adequate supply levels to support team performance
  • Follow all safety procedures and standards when operating kitchen equipment

Team Leadership & Development

  • Provide direction, coaching, training, and development for assistant managers and all team members
  • Communicate and enforce food quality standards, service excellence, safety protocols, and company policies
  • Interview and participate in hiring decisions to maintain optimal staffing levels
  • Effectively manage assistant managers and team members to ensure consistent food and service standards

Scheduling & Budget Management

  • Oversee back-of-house scheduling while maintaining appropriate staffing levels and labor cost targets
  • Manage back-of-house budgets with accurate forecasting capabilities
  • Supervise department inventory procedures and develop assistant managers in weekly inventory management

Communication & Reporting

  • Establish and communicate operational goals to General Manager and Local Owner on regular basis
  • Maintain effective communication with guests, team members, management, ownership, corporate team, and vendors
  • Ensure all guests receive exceptional dining experiences through quality oversight

Required Qualifications

Experience & Skills

  • 3 - 5 years proven experience in restaurant kitchen management and operations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while working under pressure
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities in fast-paced environments

Technical Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and sanitation standards
  • Experience with inventory management and cost control procedures
  • Proficiency in staff scheduling and labor management
  • Understanding of restaurant budgeting and forecasting processes
