Our Church Pleasant Grove Baptist churchs Purpose: Pleasant Grove Baptist is a family of believers living and striving to become more like Jesus, as we seek to reach more people with the saving Gospel. We are excited to welcome a Senior Pastor who shares our purpose, vision and passion for the gospel.

Profile Overview:

Our Congregation is seeking a passionate and dedicated Senior Pastor who will serve as our spiritual leader. The Senior Pastor will be responsible for preaching and teaching Gods Word, providing visionary leadership, and guiding the church in fulfilling its mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ. The ideal candidate will possess a shepherds heart, a passion for evangelism, and the ability to lead others to accept God as their Lord and personal Savior.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preaching and Teaching:
  • Deliver biblically sound and impactful sermons that inspire spiritual growth, encourage believers, and challenge believers to live out their faith.
  • Teach Gods Word in a relevant, clear, and engaging manner, enabling the congregation to grow in their knowledge of the Scriptures and apply them to daily life.
• Lead the church in evangelistic efforts, equipping members to share the gospel and actively engage the community in outreach and ministry.
• Lead people to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior through powerful, Spirit-led preaching and personal interactions.
• Vision and Leadership:
  • Provide visionary leadership for the church, discerning and articulating Gods call for the congregation in the community and beyond.
  • Develop and implement strategies to accomplish the churchs mission and ministry goals, encouraging members to embrace Gods vision for their lives.
• Care for the spiritual, emotional, and relational needs of the congregation, offering guidance, counseling, and support in times of joy and crisis.
• Foster a loving, supportive church environment that promotes spiritual growth, healing, and unity among believers.
• Ministry Leadership:
  • Lead and inspire the ministry team in planning and facilitating meaningful worship services that glorify God and engage the congregation in heartfelt worship.
  • Encourage a culture of worship that reflects the churchs commitment to honoring God in spirit and truth.
• Encouraging Spiritual Gifts and Growth:
  • Help believers discover and develop their spiritual gifts, talents, and callings, encouraging them to use them for service in the church and community.
  • Provide teaching, mentorship, and opportunities for believers to grow in their faith and knowledge of Gods Word.
• Community Engagement:
  • Actively participate in the Fountain Inn and surrounding communities, building relationships and fostering partnerships with other local churches, ministries, and organizations.
  • Serve as the lead representative of the church in the community, promoting the love of Christ through word and deed.

Qualifications:

• A deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrating a mature faith and commitment to living according to Gods Word.
• Ordained as a pastor or willing to be ordained in the Southern Baptist tradition.
• Strong preaching and teaching ability, with experience delivering biblically grounded and Spirit-led messages.
• Demonstrated passion for evangelism and leading others to Christ.
• Proven leadership experience in ministry, with the ability to cast vision and guide a congregation towards spiritual growth and outreach.
• Strong knowledge of Scripture, theology, and Baptist doctrine.
• Ability to lead worship, and a willingness to collaborate with the ministry team.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and encourage others in their faith journey.
• Bachelors degree in theology, ministry, or related field required.
• Previous pastoral experience in a Southern Baptist church.
