Senior Pastor Roberdel Baptist Church (Rockingham, NC)

Roberdel Baptist Church of Rockingham, NC, is seeking a passionate and committed licensed and ordained Senior Pastor to serve as a full-time leader, teacher, and preachera co-laborer in ministry with our local body of believers. We are looking for someone who will uphold and proclaim the Bible as the inerrant Word of God, teaching with clarity, conviction, and authority, and who adheres to the qualifications outlined in 1 Timothy 3:17 and Titus 1:59.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced soul-winner who is eager to inspire and equip our congregation to live out biblical principles in their personal witness. As a conservative Baptist church aligned with the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message (amended 2023), we are committed to sound doctrine and biblical truth.

Key Responsibilities:

Preaching & Teaching: Plan and lead dynamic worship services in collaboration with part-time staff, delivering clear, biblical messages. Actively lead weekly school chapel services in cooperation with the school director, with occasional guest speakers.
Pastoral Care: Provide pastoral care by visiting members in hospitals, nursing homes, and homes, with support from the deacons.
Leadership & Administration: Oversee and lead the church staff, ensuring smooth administrative operations. Serve as the primary leader and administrator of paid staff. Offer support and encouragement to school staff.
Evangelism & Discipleship: Lead outreach and evangelism efforts and help guide new members into the life of the church.
Ceremonies & Counseling: Officiate weddings, funerals, and other church ceremonies. Provide biblical counseling to members and prospective members as needed.
Sacraments: Lead the church in the observance of baptism and the Lords Supper.
Denominational Representation: Represent the church in associational, state, and denominational matters.

Qualifications:

Licensed and ordained Pastor
Seminary degree preferred (e.g., Southern Baptist Theological Seminary)
Strong biblical preaching and teaching skills
Passionate about evangelism and disciple-making with a heart for both local and international missions.
Proven leadership abilities, including experience in church administration and staff management

About Roberdel Baptist Church:

Roberdel Baptist Church has a rich history of over 100 years as a vibrant body of Christian believers in Richmond County. Originally founded as a mission church in the Roberdel Mill Village, the church now resides at a prominent location just inside the city limits of Rockingham, nestled between multiple family-filled neighborhoods.

Our award-winning school, established as a preschool in 1995, has experienced steady growth and is currently expanding to a new facility, with plans to serve up to 5th grade. We maintain active childrens and youth ministries, including Awana and traditional Southern Baptist mission groups.

Our adult ministries include Sunday School classes, WMU, and Baptist Mens groups. We offer a blended worship service that incorporates both traditional and contemporary music. Roberdel is active in the North Carolina Baptist State Convention and the Pee Dee Baptist Association, with several members serving in associational leadership roles and committees. We also have members actively involved in associational Ramp Ministries and the local soup kitchen.

We regularly host community outreach events, support both local and international missions, and participate in local church sports events such as volleyball tournaments.
