Senior Software Engineer – Embedded Akkodis is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Embedded for a direct job with a client in Rochester, NY. Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. The role involves developing and implementing software for embedded systems, designing and debugging firmware, optimizing system performance and stability, collaborating with hardware engineers, testing and validating software‑hardware integration, and providing post‑production support. Rate Range: $110/k to $120/k. Negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Responsibilities Guide the architectural design and evolution of software for automated immunohematology instruments. Define requirements and User Stories for design changes. Define and enforce software engineering best practices, design patterns, and coding standards. Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance our software capabilities. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring high performance and reliability of our systems. Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and architectural discussions. Perform other work‑related duties as assigned. Desired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Minimum five years of related experience. Experience in a regulated industry: FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and IEC 62304. Professional software experience in Windows environments. Experience with embedded real‑time applications written in C and C++. Experience with real‑time operating systems and multitasking/multi‑threaded embedded applications. Experience setting up and executing the full CI‑CD pipeline. Experience with image processing, transfer, and storage for both high and low resolution images.
