Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. This is a long-term contract position that offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of accounting experience and a strong desire to learn and improve processes.
Responsibilities:
• Manage customer billing processes, ensuring accuracy and timely invoicing.
• Allocate daily cash transactions and maintain detailed records.
• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure financial data integrity.
• Assist with tracking tax-related tasks and maintaining compliance.
• Review and post basic journal entries prepared by team members.
• Support general ledger maintenance and ensure accurate reporting.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve discrepancies and improve workflows.
• Utilize SAP for financial transactions and reporting.
• Provide assistance with corporate and sales tax returns.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience; entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Proficiency in SAP and familiarity with corporate tax processes.
• Solid understanding of general ledger, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a curious mindset to ask insightful questions.
• Ability to commute to Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, and work on-site at least two days per week.
• Knowledge of corporate and sales tax regulations is an advantage.
