This is a 11-week paid learning experience during which you'll be able to connect and network with other interns and leaders within the company. Finance at T-Mobile offers a fast-paced and team-focused environment that will grow your Finance and leadership skills as you help craft the success of the Un-carrier. You will work across the different functions at T-Mobile and make a difference in how we do business. The intern will have the opportunity to learn and participate in the income tax department's tax return, financial reporting, and audit processes, making meaningful contributions to T-Mobile. What you will do

• Tax Return Preparation and Compliance: Assist with the preparation of workpapers to support federal and state income tax filings using Microsoft Excel, Dataverse, and Thompson Reuter's Tax Software.
• Tax Reporting: Apply ASC 740 guidance to determine proper tax accounting treatment, including Uncertain Tax Positions, Valuation Allowance, and other quarterly disclosure reporting.
• Income Tax Audit Defense: Support federal and state income tax audits by preparing information request and notice responses and supporting schedules.
• Research and Analysis: Conduct tax research on federal and state regulations and assist with special projects, planning, and drafting of tax technical memorandum, as needed.
• Data Management and Automation: Participate in our ERP transformation (Project Elevate) by helping to streamline and improve income tax processes through automation, improved reporting, and better access to data.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Master's program in Finance/Accounting, Tax preferred.
• Excellent Microsoft Office Suite Skills.
• Outstanding data analysis, organizational, and prioritization skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal, work ethic, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity.
• Strong foundation in general accounting principles with a desire to learn about pursuing a career in tax.

-At least 18 years of age

-Legally authorized to work in the United States

-High School Diploma or GED

-Must be actively enrolled in a degree program or graduated within the last year

-Employees of T-Mobile or Metro by T-Mobile are ineligible for internships

Employer does not sponsor work visas for this position. Note that this also applies to individuals who are students in F-1 status who desire sponsorship after they complete their education.

Relocation may be provided to program participants who reside more than 50 miles from the internship location.

Intern wages range from $20/hour to $40/hour. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on experience/location.
