American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care (IMC) position with telemetry experience and an active IL RN license requirement.

\n \n Responsibilities\n
  • Work in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) of an acute care Level I trauma center
  • Patient population includes cardiac, post-cardiac procedures, renal, respiratory, and neurological cases
  • Average daily census is 38 patients
  • Night shifts available with 3x12 or 4x12 hour schedules (18:45–07:15)
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating required to similar units within scope as needed
  • Cerner EMR experience required
  • Provide care for complex cardiac, renal, neurological, and respiratory intermediate care patients
  • Manage post-procedure and critically ill telemetry patients and respond to emergency situations
  • Work in a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital environment
  • Scrubs may be any solid color
  • Parking permit required and provided at no cost
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Maximum of 5 days of requested time off
  • Local candidates are accepted with no radius restrictions
\n \n Requirements\n
  • Active IL RN license required at time of application
  • Must have current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Minimum 2 years of recent IMC, Telemetry, Cardiac Tele, PCU, DOU, Stepdown, or Med/Surg Tele experience required
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry (on-unit and remote)
  • Skills required: post-cardiac catheterization, sheath removal, TR band, feeding tube management, pre/post hemodialysis management, arterial and central line care, blood product administration, IV therapy, and medication protocols including drips and PCA
  • Respiratory equipment experience required, including chest tubes, external CPAP/BIPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management
  • Experience with wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions, and surgical drain management required
  • Cerner EMR experience required
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital and Level I trauma experience preferred
