DESCRIPTION

Position: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (MS/Tele RN)
Location: Rochester, NY 14626-4182
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12s – Days

• Support Staff:
  • Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) assist with vitals, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and ADLs.
  • In-house phlebotomy team performs peripheral lab draws; nurses handle PICC and central line draws.
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of recent MS/Tele experience.
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted.
• Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend (EOW).
• Certifications Required: BLS (AHA) .
• On-Call Requirement: None.
• Floating: Required within scope to similar units as needed.
• Block Scheduling: Facility will attempt to accommodate but not guaranteed.
• Local Candidates: Not accepted (must reside more than 75 miles from facility).
• Pending License: Not accepted.
• RTO Restrictions: Maximum of 1 week off during the contract.

Clinical Skills & Special Requirements

• MS/Tele experience including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• Competent with:
  • IV insulin and heparin protocols
  • Feeding tube care and management
  • Blood product administration
  • Peripheral line care
  • Cardiac drips (no titration)
  • PCA pumps
  • Ortho trauma and total joint replacements
  • Chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac)
  • External CPAP/BIPAP, HFNC
  • Tracheostomy and wound care (including wound vacs)
• Patient Diagnoses: Osteoarthritis, fractures, and various post-operative conditions.
• Charting System: Epic preferred
