Centralia College is on a 30-acre campus of modern buildings set among walking paths, lawns, and native plantings just a few blocks from the heart of Centralia, Washington. The college has served students in the Lewis County region since 1925 and is the oldest continuously operating community college in Washington State. The city of Centralia is a historic railroad and river shipping hub with a vibrant downtown and railway station.

As a comprehensive community college, Centralia College offers academic transfer and workforce programs, as well as adult basic education, English as a Second Language (ESL), and personal enrichment classes. The college also offers five Bachelor of Applied Science degrees.

In addition to the main campus in Centralia, Centralia College East in Morton is a smaller site that serves the needs of students in east Lewis County. Job Description

Centralia College is currently seeking applicants for a part-time, adjunct instructor position in Anthropology. Applicants with a strong background in Archaeology are encouraged to apply.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • The instructor is responsible for teaching and constructing various levels of ANTH courses depending on the quarter.
  • Place student success at the center of their courses

  • Engage with students, faculty, staff, and administrators to create a community of learners.

  • Seek opportunities for teaching and learning excellence.

  • Respect the richness of diverse cultural values, beliefs and practices of others.

  • Align course curriculum with program learning outcomes.

Qualifications
  • MA or PhD in Anthropology, Archaeology, Bioanthropology or related discipline from an accredited college or university.

  • Computer competency and experience with LMS systems.

  • Experience teaching hybrid and online colleges in Anthropology or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Community College teaching experience.

  • Academic and professional experience in Archaeology.
