As an Electrician you are responsible to safely install, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and electrical components on asphalt plants, aggregate plants, quarries, and equipment.

Duties and/or Responsibilities:


  • Responsible to safely install and repair electrical systems and electrical components at asphalt plants and aggregate equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications using hand tools, power tools and electrical equipment.
  • Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment following blueprints and electrical codes using hand tools and voltage tester.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus using test equipment and replaces damaged or broken wires using hand tools.
  • Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components such as circuit boards, soft starts, PLC5, VFD2 & remote?control systems.
  • May diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  • Replaces faulty electrical components of machine and positions sensing devices using hand tools. Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors.
  • Communicates effectively (verbal, listening, written) and works with difficult people under high stress situations. Self?motivated, team?player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others.
  • Troubleshoots and problem?solves situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.).
  • Monitors and discusses production problems with co?workers and managers/supervisors. Provides and maintains proper licensure & acceptable driving record.
  • Ensures OSHA, MSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2?year degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in the electrical field.
  • Class A Journeyworker minimum, Master preferred.
  • Provides and maintains proper licensure, medical card and applicable driving record.
  • Has an understanding of electrical theory and application.
