Job Description Project Manager | 50% Remote + Chicagoland Site Visits | Contract, 15–25 hrs/week As our Freelance Project Manager , you’ll act as the primary point of contact for clients, coordinating with contractors and vendors while managing timelines to keep projects on track. Your role is to support the team and deliver a seamless client experience by anticipating challenges, resolving issues quickly, and keeping communication clear and consistent. You’ll take ownership of projects from start to finish, building strong relationships with clients, partners, and team members along the way. We’re seeking someone organized, proactive, and detail-oriented — an adaptable professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, manages multiple priorities with confidence, and is dedicated to ensuring every project meets the highest standards. Responsibilities Serve as the primary contact for our clients Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables in a shared tracking system (ex. Asana, Trello, Google Sheets) Request, review, and organize bids and estimates from contractors/vendors Draft proposals and contracts for review by the Principal Designer Coordinate field measures, site visits, and contractor meetings; attend as needed Partner with the design team to ensure creative direction is executed smoothly Provide weekly project updates to the Principal Designer What We’re Looking For 3+ years of project management experience in interior design, architecture, construction, or similar field Exceptional communication skills — professional, warm, and client-focused Highly organized and detail-oriented; thrives on checklists and deadlines Strong collaborator Familiarity with Chief Architect or similar design software is a plus Calm under pressure and solutions-focused Please Note: This is a part-time freelance role, starting at 15–25 hours per week, with the possibility to grow into a larger, more involved position over time. Regular travel around the Chicagoland area and to our office in Grayslake, IL is required, along with the ability to work from home (around 50% of the time depending on projects).
