Funeral Services Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Funeral Services Assistant to provide administrative and clerical support for funeral home operations. This role involves working directly with client families and the public, offering assistance and information related to funeral and cremation services. The ideal candidate is professional, respectful, and committed to upholding our company’s mission, values, and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and welcome families, guests, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
• Provide assistance and support to families during services, visitations, and other ceremonies.
• Set up for services, including arranging flowers, chairs, caskets, urns, photos, and other family memorabilia.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and guest-ready chapel and visitation areas at all times.
• Prepare service-related documents, death certificates, and cremation paperwork.
• Create memorial videos using family-supplied photos and materials.
• Assist in the preparation of the deceased with dignity and care, including dressing and lifting, in accordance with legal and company guidelines.
• Perform general office duties such as answering phones, data entry, handling payments, and operating audio/video equipment.
• Run errands as needed, including flower deliveries and document pick-up.
• Provide ushering and parking assistance; drive funeral home vehicles for services as required.
• Maintain refreshments for families and guests, where legally permitted.
• Help with setting up and assisting during visitations, funerals, and memorial services.
• Clean and maintain funeral home vehicles, ensuring they are presentable and service-ready.

Additional Expectations:

• Attend monthly staff meetings.
• Represent the funeral home with professionalism and empathy at all times.
• Adhere strictly to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
