This position is eligible for annual and long-term incentive awards. The annual incentive opportunity is 0-165% of salary and is based on the level of achievement against several quantitative and qualitative measures. The long-term incentive program provides an additional opportunity of 0-165% of base salary beginning after five years and when absolute total fund returns meet or exceed board-approved thresholds.

Job Description And Duties

Anticipated Interview Dates: We anticipate holding virtual interviews on an ongoing basis until the position is filled.

This position will run until filled with cutoff dates for review every Friday until filled.

Under the general direction of the Deputy Chief Investment Officer (DCIO), Private Markets, the Managing Investment Director (MID) is responsible for Private Debt (PD) investment portfolios and strategies and will collaborate with the DCIO and INVO Senior Leadership in supporting Total Fund investment decision making in a risk-aware manner.

Duties Include But Are Not Limited To:

• Manage the implementation of Private Debt investment strategies, external investment managers, portfolio risks, and take responsibility for the overall Private Debt investment performance.
• Provide executive-level leadership, guidance, and oversight for managers and team members within the Private Debt team and across INVO in alignment with CalPERS core leadership competencies.
• Set objectives and performance standards, comply with investment policies, prepare reports and agenda items, and make presentations to the CalPERS Board of Administration and Investment Committee.

Telework Information: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week.
