divh2Security Position/h2pYou will serve as the senior member of the entry control vehicle inspection team which conducts private and commercial vehicle inspections./ppYou will control access and departures of vehicles and pedestrians in controlled areas to prevent unauthorized access./ppYou will direct vehicles and pedestrian traffic during periods of emergency or increased traffic./ppYou will furnish technical direction to an entry control team to properly perform vehicle inspections./ppYou will inspect private and commercial vehicles to determine if safe to enter installation./ppMust be a US Citizen./ppMust be determined suitable for federal employment./ppMust participate in the direct deposit pay program./ppNew employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check./ppWithin the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326./ppMales born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service./ppThis is a bargaining unit position./ppYou will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States drivers license./ppYou will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty./ppYou will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases./ppThis position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites./ppYou must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time./ppYou will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination./ppThis position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968./ppYou will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition./ppSuccessful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required./ppThis is a Mission Essential position./ppIn order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered./ppYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector./ppSpecialized experience must demonstrate the following:/pulliAuthenticating identification for access to restricted areas;/liliRegulating pedestrian and vehicular traffic to maintain traffic flow and security operations;/liliGranting or denying personnel access into restricted areas;/liliPerforming private and commercial vehicle inspections and package inspections following prescribed procedures to ensure only authorized property is brought into or removed from facilities./li/ulpNOTE: All experience must be fully demonstrated in your resume to be considered for the position./ppThis job does not have an education qualification requirement./ppThis announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service./ppA 40 hour work week is typical for this position.
