In celebration of turning 28 today, I’ve been reflecting on what these past 28 years have taught me. If I could go back in time and give myself some words of wisdom, what would those be? Several lessons-learned instantly began flooding my mind. Curious? Well here they are….
- Success and failure are on the same road…. Success is just further down that road.
- When people show you who they are, believe them.
- Don’t ignore the zip cash bill… they do not just disappear.
- Some things just should not be said via text.
- Don’t waste time explaining yourself to people who are committed to misunderstanding you.
- Do the preventative botox.
- Just because you know you are a certain way does not give you an excuse to act that way.
- Everything you want is figure-outable.
- Success is hard… but being broke is harder.
- Love your body and yourself through thick and thin… literally and figuratively.
- Having real love takes real work. Worth it.
- Don’t let the praise get to your head.
- Don’t let the critics get to your heart.
- Probably should’ve stopped at two dogs… 12 muddy paws is a lot to clean up.
- Not all relationships are meant to last forever. They come in seasons for different reasons.
- Sometimes cheap wine will do.
- You should never have to sell yourself. Either they’ll get you or they won’t. And if they don’t then they weren’t meant to be.
- Always use an excuse to celebrate. Small wins are worthy of celebration too.
- Better to take imperfect action than perfect inaction.
- Don’t go into business with your friends… lawyers are expensive.
- You can do it all… you just can’t do it all at once.
- Never miss out on a great opportunity to shut up.
- Your cheesecake will NOT look like the Pinterest photo.
- Love is easy when things are easy. The test of love is how you work through adversity.
- Cardio actually never gets more fun as time goes on.
- Things don’t happen to you. They happen for you.
- The reality is everyone is trying to look like they have it all the way together, but no one really does so stop worrying so much. You’re doing just fine.
- Not everyone you lose is a loss.
