One in a Melon Birthday Party *

You guys!! My niece is already ONE. *insert crying emoji*

I can’t believe how fast time flies. So to celebrate such an epic milestone you know Auntie Bri was all OVER throwing a “one in a melon” party for a “one in a melon” baby girl.

I’ve always loved planning fun parties but I’ve never shared my party-planning-obsession on the blog so let me know in the comments if you’d like more posts like these!

I LOVE having fun with entertaining guests and this theme for a kids party is so fun for the summer.

Let’s Discuss the Party Decor

The Dessert Table

Amazon came THROUGH with the watermelon décor, y’all. I pretty much did ALL the décor shopping on Amazon with the exception of the felt board, the candy dish, picture frame, and water pitcher. But ALL the plates, napkins, backdrops, streamers, balloons, plastic ware ALL were on Prime and hellaaaaa inexpensive.

I even DIY’ed my own balloon garland which is WAY easier to do than one would think with the awesome balloon garland kit’s available on Amazon. I also invested (a whole whopping 20 bucks) on a electric air pump so that blowing up balloons, pool floaties, really anything is a breeze. It comes in SUPER handy.

My sweet mother-in-law helped me a lot too! She snagged the cute basket and letters from Michaels and painted the letters herself. That little detail really made this little photo opp complete.

Let’s Talk About the Food

Now, no party is complete without some good eats SO to bring the summery, watermelon theme together, a Dickey’s Barbeque spread was easy, delicious, and an affordable option!

Summer Barbeque Spread Essentials

To make sure the table still tied in with the theme, my mom made her famous Deviled Eggs with a festive twist by food coloring them watermelon colors. One cute idea that you could add is a poppy seed garnish to mimic the look of watermelon seeds (if I ever do these again, I will definitely add that). And duh, you can’t have a watermelon themed party without some actual watermelon.

Cake by @sweetdazetx

The cake was so cute it doubled as a decoration! The best thing though, is that it tasted just as delicious as it was adorable! They even made the cute cursive topper and I could not have been happier.

Custom Cookies by @cookies_and_buttercream

Cookies and Buttercream is my GIRL whenever I want some awesome cookies. I show her a picture, or describe what I want and she nails it to a T! This is the third time I’ve worked with Christina, and these are my new favorite… but I think I say that every time.

Now for the Drinks

Simple. Straight forward. Festive. Refreshing. Delicious. Slice your watermelon, fill with water, add ice, and you’re done.

Waterloo Sparkling Water Cans

How cute are these cans??? Not only is the Waterloo branding so on point with the theme, but these are for real delicious!

Annnnd of course I forgot to snap a picture of the BEST beverage of all (my boozy watermelon juice). I know, amateur move on my part, but it’s simple.

Here’s what I did:

I used a pitcher just like the water pitcher. Then I used my juicer to make fresh watermelon juice (1-2 watermelons depending on size. Add a half gallon of Pineapple juice (or any juice you like). Add some vodka to your desired strength, lime slices for color, and ice, Voila – you’re done.

I think she liked it, haha. She might have no idea now but one day she’ll be able to look back on this beautiful celebration and know how much we love her! She really is one in a million, so her ‘one in a melon’ birthday was perfection.
