Our little girl is officially one sweet peach! That whole saying that, “the days are long, but the years are short” could not be more accurate. This past week we celebrated Tati’s one sweet peach birthday with close friends and family at my parents house, and this celebration is one that I’ll never forget.
For Tati’s first birthday party, I wanted it to be really special, and in case the pics don’t speak for themselves, I’d say the mission was accomplished.
I wasn’t sure how it was going to play out hosting an outdoor party in the hottest part of the Texas summer, but all of our efforts to make the backyard temp tolerable came together perfectly and Tati had a total blast being the center of attention!
I went with the One Sweet Peach birthday theme, but wanted to add a modern twist to the theme that I hadn’t seen done before.
The color palette was peach (duh), bubblegum pink, pale yellow, and a few pops of teal. The idea was to make the party bright and fun, and incorporate the peachy theme without letting things get rustic.
While there were a few details I did myself, this was my first time calling in a lot of professional help for a party. As much as I LOVE a good DIY party, the reality is, I knew that for the vision I had in my mind, I’d need extra hands on deck to A) bring this to life, and B) fully enjoy the day too!

The show-stopping décor that totally made the party was all handled by a few local Dallas vendors. First, let’s talk about the picnic setup. Wanderlust Picnics OUTDID themselves on this absolutely gorgeous one sweet peach birthday picnic setup.
They have the CUTEST décor rentals and the neutral arch backdrop and cake stands were the perfect balance to the colorful balloons and cake! The vinyl decal was so easy to have made. I just designed it on Canva, and adhered it on myself!
And finally, I’ve been obsessed with Marquee Letters ever since they began getting popular!
One of the things I learned after doing my nieces first birthday, (the first baby party I’ve ever hosted) was having some kid/baby-friendly activities are a MUST! I was researching like crazy different things, primarily bounce houses, but our mini-party guests are all a TAD young for that.
I had NO IDEA that PeeK Soft Play existed! She has a variety of different styles and colors of soft-play sets, ball pits, and baby gyms for ages 0 – 4 and it was a total hit with the kiddos!
All the babies from Tati, up to my 3-year-old niece were so content hanging in these perfect rentals from Wandering TIPI that they customized for the peach theme with a floral crown by Casa De Dahlia Florals.

She came up with a CUSTOM flavor to match the one sweet peach birthday theme – a vanilla cake soaked in peach syrup filled with Chantilly cream and fresh peach slices. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
Unlike a lot of other cake vendors, she designs her own floral arrangements for her cakes also. Can we talk about how beautiful???
And most importantly, Tati LOVED tearing into her cake…
Macarons are my moms FAVORITE, and since she let us take over her house for the party, I wanted to get something specifically that I knew my mom would be excited for.
I got this wild idea to make my own Peach Bourbon Preserves thanks to a recipe I found on Pinterest… and to be COMPLETELY honest… I will never do them again. LOL!
The recipe was DELICIOUS, don’t get me wrong, and my guests definitely felt loved with the extra thoughtful gesture of making them. But real talk, they took me ALL day to make and the process was exhausting.
That said, I am not a big cook, so if you enjoy cooking, you’d probably enjoy this process… but if I ever were to do this again, I’d buy some damn preserves, and put them in my own jars like so…
I snagged these mason jars on Amazon, the tag template off Etsy, and the string at Joannes. The tag fit PERFECTLY inside the lid of the jar which saved me a TON of time by not worrying about cutting a perfectly circle tag. THAT little hack I 10/10 recommend.
I knew people were going to be hot outside… even with big fans running. So last minute, I designed this “Just Peachy” graphic on Canva, sent it off to print on an 8×8 paper, and glued on my own popsicle sticks so that everyone had something festive to fan themselves with.
Fast, easy, festive, and somewhat unisex so that the guys didn’t have to feel lame with one of those folding paper fans. And my mother-in-law came through by rounding the corners with this brilliant gadget so that they were totally kid friendly too.
Okay, so these were freaking DELICIOUS. Caramelizing the onions was the most tedious part, but aside from that, these were really fun to make. They’re also a big party hit and definitely a recipe to whip out if you want to impress friends.
Both of the decals I just created in Canva. I have the pro version, so it’s really easy to size the ratio to your exact measurements, create the graphic you like, and then save with a transparent background.
I had mine printed at Alpha Graphics and it was soooo simple to apply.
This was my first time really outsourcing a number of different vendors and being so minimally hands on – and I gotta tell you, it is so worth it. Having done several events for family, friends, and even my own Gender Reveal, letting the pro’s take over allowed me to be fully present in this special day.
Thank you to all of our family and friends who helped us celebrate, and thank you to all of the phenomenal vendors who made this a celebration to remember.
